Prince Harry and Prince William have a step sister that no-one knows about
Even if you don't religiously follow the lives of the British monarchy, it's likely that you're able to name a fair few members of the Royal Family. You've got the head honchos - Queen Liz and Prince Phil - then Prince Charles, his two sons: William and Harry, and the youngest generation of the Royals: George and Charlotte.
Most recently, it seems to have been Harry who's dominated the headlines, though mainly because of his engagement to former Suits actress, Meghan Markle. The pair are due to be wed in May this year and pretty much every close member of Harry's family will be coming along.
Including, of course, his step sister.
Now, before you go jumping to some sort of scandalous conclusion about all this, just remember who else is in the Royal Family. After Harry and William's mother, Diana, was tragically killed in a car crash more than twenty years ago, Prince Charles got remarried to Camilla Parker Bowles - making her their step mother.
And, yes, you guessed it: she has a daughter. Her name is Laura Lopes, and she is the child of Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles.
The reason you probably haven't heard of her before is that her mother chose to keep her out of the public eye since marrying Charles in 2005, but she has made several public appearances since then - most notably as Kate Middleton's bridesmaid during her marriage to William in 2011.
Compared to her two step brothers, however, the 40-year-old has a fairly normal life. While most of the other Royals were busy showing up at public events and making sure to follow strict etiquette rules, Lopes went out and got herself a career. Her first prominent job was as a motoring correspondent for "high society" magazine Tatler, but now she is the director of an art gallery in London.
Lopes has a brother, Tom Parker Bowles, who is obviously William and Harry's step brother. Unlike Lopes, he doesn't avoid the public eye as much, and has previously given some honest insights into the daily life of the Royal Family.
Back in 2015, for example, when there were rumors flying about that Kate Middleton and Camilla didn't really see eye-to-eye, Tom stepped in to clear the air.
"They get on fine", he said bluntly. "I don't think there's any truth to [the rumors of tension]. Well, I can't guarantee for sure, but I think that's all bulls**t".
Considering she had such a main role in William and Kate's wedding, it's likely that we'll see Laura as part of the main part on Harry and Meghan's big day, too.
However, given the star-studded guest list, it's likely that most people will be paying most attention to the other famous faces in the audience. Elton John, for instance, just canceled a couple of gigs in order to free up his diary for the wedding, and it's rumored that Justin and Sophie Trudeau will be in attendance, too.
Either way, it seems that Lopes is an incredibly valued member of the family - she just prefers a slightly more normal life.
