Apparently, we all love nothing more than a royal wedding.

Indeed, speculation, rumour and intrigue are already reaching fever pitch ahead of May 19th, when the happy couple will make their way down the aisle to be married and many an onlooker will come over all inexplicably misty eyed.

Kate and Prince William piqued our interest a few years back when they tied the knot with all appropriate pomp, circumstance and decorum, and now Prince the younger (Harry) has finally settled down after - let's face it - quite a few years dominated by headlines of his hedonistic party-man lifestyle.

Prince Harry, famously, will wed bonafide Hollywood star Meghan Markle - she of Suits fame. Markle plays the paralegal turned all-conquering associate on the hugely popular US TV legal drama, alongside her on-screen husband Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) and a host of other stars.

There have already been reports that Meghan Markle will make her own wedding speech - breaking from royal tradition. Besides that, some ludicrously archaic individuals have suggested that Markle's decision not to wear tights during an official photo opportunity was outrageous, perhaps momentarily forgetting that we are now in 2018, not 1918.

However, it wouldn't be a proper royal wedding in the 21st century if the speculation stopped there, and these newly emerged reports are arguably the most exciting yet; Prince Harry is set to invite two of his ex-girlfriends to his wedding.

Now, quite why anyone would want to do that is, frankly, beyond me. Outside of stirring up trouble and making the day altogether more dramatic than it needs to be, what possible motivation could their be for inviting not one but two ex-partners to one's own wedding day. Well, as W Magazine explains;

"Harry has stayed good friends with Chelsy and Cressida, so they will be there... He made sure there were no hard feelings when they split up. I don't think Meghan will mind."

Let's hope he checked with her first anyway, no?

Chelsea Davy, ex-girlfriend to the prince, had an on-off relationship with Markle's beau from 2004- 2010 (quite a while, in other words). Cressida Bonas, meanwhile, was apparently introdued to Prince Harry by cousin Princess Eugenie in 2012, but the pair went their separate ways two years later.

For her part, Meghan Markle has been married before, famously to the producer Trevor Engelson - cracking name - from 2011 to 2013, though the chances of him snagging an invite to the big day seem relatively slim, given that the couple cited 'irreconcilable differences' as a reason for their divorce.

It sounds like Prince Harry has got the situation under control, and if he is inviting two of his ex-girlfriends to the happy day of his marriage, one can only assume that he asked Meghan Markle if she was cool with it before posting the invites.
