Sooo... Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are in India this week for a very special occasion indeed. The 36-year-old Bollywood star who found her fame on western screens through Quantico (and to a lesser extent, the Baywatch remake) headed home to her family in India to introduce her new beau... and his entire family.
Reports circulated that they were all headed to Mumbai so that they could introduce their families to each other on Saturday during an engagement party. Chopra is currently filming a project in Mumbai anyway, and Jonas arrived with his family on Thursday night.
"Priyanka has sent out messages to close friends and family members to set aside time on August 18 for a party," a source told the Daily Mail. "It’s exactly a month after her birthday and those close to the Quantico actress feel that she may make an official announcement about her relationship status at the bash."
And yep, turns out this "source" was right! The two were photographed wearing traditional garb at an event described by the Indian media as a Roka ceremony, a traditional engagement ritual in India. And as a cherry on top, Chopra and the 25-year-old singer have finally made it Instagram official. Emphasis on the FINALLY.
In two adorable Instagram posts, the lovers each shared the same pic from the party of the two of them gazing lovingly into each other's eyes. Note: the massive mother-flippin' ring on Chopra's hand.
Jonas shared the happy news with the super-romantic caption: "Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love."

And Chopra was obviously feeling the love too, writing simply: "Taken.. With all my heart and soul.."
Their official engagement posts each got about twice as much love as their usual Insta uploads, so it's clear that people are over-the-moon about the news.
Gigi Hadid commented on Chopra's pic with "So happy for you two !!!!!!!!!" while Nick himself quipped "Wow congrats... He's the luckiest guy in the world." His dad commented on his own announcement post, writing "So happy for you my son, You are beautiful together!". Seems like Papa Jonas approves.
Chopra uploaded a few more pics from the traditional engagement party later on, and many more have emerged to show what the celebrations were like.
The posts come as a welcome confirmation from the two that they really, truly are getting married. It follows months of speculation after they were first spotted getting cosy with one another, even though most people kinda knew they were getting hitched thanks to a not-so-subtle tweet from a director Chopra was working with.
The Indian director tweeted that Chopra would no longer be working on his film Bharat dropping some pretty obvious hints about why. "Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her," he wrote.
Then when People reported that the two were engaged, most of us were 99 per cent sure that it was happening. But now, we FINALLY KNOW FOR SURE. Yippee! Hooray!
