Being the bride during a wedding ceremony is already a stressful, nerve-wracking thing to go through. Sure, it's a wonderful day that you will remember for the rest of your life - but being the centre of attention for such a long time, acting and looking your best at every moment... it's got to be exhausting.

So, you can bet that doing the same in front of thousands of people, with millions more watching your every move as it is broadcasted on television screens across the world, is a little intense too. Meghan Markle went through just this when she tied the knot with Prince Harry, with the ceremony being held at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19 this year.

You can imagine that having to deal with so much intensive media coverage would be a little overwhelming, so when your family start making ripples, you want to stay as far away from it as possible; while Meghan gets to know her new family, her American family seem to be consistently making headlines with their comments about her.

Just earlier this week, Meghan's half-sister, Samantha, said that she was a "greedy, arrogant, fake humanitarian," even stating that the new Royal had treated their father "inhumanely". "There would be no just reason for her not to want him in her life," she explained in a recent interview. "He was good enough to use to make her everything she is."

Thomas Markle, their father, hasn't exactly been out of the news either. After he missed the royal wedding in May, citing poor health for not making it to the prestigious event, he has said he feels he has been "frozen out" by the royal family:

"The unfortunate thing now is that I’m a footnote in one of the greatest moments in history – instead of a dad walking his daughter down the aisle."

However, while everyone has been focused on her father's absence from this wedding, it's only now that people have looked back to Meghan's previous wedding. Her first wedding was to film producer Trevor Engleson, and as it turns out, Thomas Markle didn't make it to that ceremony either.

The wedding took place in Jamaica back in 2011, and while Meghan's mother Doria Ragland was in attendance, her dad wasn't. Once Twitter got ahold of this particular information, they started giving Thomas a pretty hard time about the whole thing, with many claiming that Meghan's family only seemed to be interested in her now that she has made it into the Royal family.

Looks like Thomas and Samantha aren't exactly popular at the moment. Clearly there are a lot of strong feelings in the family about allegedly being "frozen out," but we don't exactly know the full picture of what has gone on in their private lives.

So far, Meghan has not spoken out about any of her family's controversial comments.
