Many of the greatest actors in the world tend to have a rags to riches story. However, the same cannot be said for Zoey Deutch. The 23-year-old was born to Howard Deutch: the man who directed two of John Hughes's classic '80s films, Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful and Lea Thompson: actress and '80s icon herself, who starred as Michael J. Fox's mother in the Back to the Future trilogy before going on to play the title character in the '90s sitcom Caroline in the City.

Essentially, for Zoey, becoming an actor wasn't a choice. "I never have a fun answer to the question of how I decided to become an actress," says the 23-year-old. "I never had that 'aha!' moment. It was just always what I wanted to do."

However, since entering the world of film, Zoey's career has gone to strength to strength, with her starring in films with some of the Hollywood elite - one of whom she had nothing but praise for. Talking about Bryan Cranston, Zoey dubbed him as "America's sweetheart" and gushed about her love of the 62-year-old.

“I love him so much. I always have and if you — whoever is watching — don’t, your feelings don’t count,” the actress joked. “He’s the greatest man.”

Deutch starred alongside the seasoned actor in Why Him?, a comedy about an overprotective father who visits California with his family to meet his daughter’s rowdy boyfriend. “I keep calling him America’s sweetheart,” she said. “People tell me … ‘Don’t meet your heroes.’ That’s not true when it comes to him. Like, meet Bryan Cranston.” She added: “Bryan Cranston is the most humble, generous, thoughtful actor I’ve ever worked with.”

However, while Deutch may be full of love for the veteran actor, she didn't have the same sort of praise for James Franco.

The actress co-starred with Franco in Why Him? and opened up about her experience of kissing the Hollywood hunk while on Watch What Happens Live. Host Andy Cohen asked what it was like kissing Franco and Deutch didn't hold back, replying with a simple "meh."

Naturally, Andy pressed on with the question, asking: "Really? Not great?" to which Zoey replied, "no." She then took things further when Andy asked what Franco's breath was like, saying "actually not good."

While Deutch may have a boyfriend now, she admits that there is one character in her life that comes first: her pit-bull mix, Maybelle. "She's the love of my life," Deutch says. "That's my life outside of work—my dog.

"I feel like I've been working nonstop, and now things are finally starting to come out," she continues.

"It's funny because in the past few years people in my life have questioned whether I was lying to them about filming in Baton Rouge or Atlanta or Vancouver or wherever in order to ditch them. Now that everything's starting to trickle out, they're like, 'Oh, that's what you were doing. You weren't lying.' And I'm like, 'Thanks for doubting me, great friends.' "

So it turns out James Franco's kissing skills are just like his acting: not very good.
