While Drake & Josh is cemented in many of our childhood memories, it only actually aired for three years, between 2004 and 2007 on Nickelodeon. However, that still meant we got four seasons, 56 episodes, and even two movies out of the duo.

The sitcom, starring Drake Bell and Josh Peck as stepbrothers figuring out high school and their new brotherly relationship at the same time came to the end over 20 years ago now, and plenty has happened in the interim.

Drake has been working on his music for years now and has done a number of voice acting roles. Josh has continued to act, and recently announced that he's a dad.

As far as a revival of Drake & Josh, there have been rumours spreading over the last few months that the pair were going to get back together to bring the show to our screens once again - and now the stars have weighed in on the rumoured 'reboot'.

Last week, Bell spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the 2019 Kids' Choice Awards, where he confirmed that it wouldn't be a reboot:

“I wouldn’t call it a reboot. I think it’s just an opportunity for Drake and I to be working together again. Obviously we love each other and we were able to make such an impact on people, so any chance to do something dope together, it’s really exciting for me. It’s going to be good. Y’all will like it."

The 32-year-old Bell also confirmed that they were officially working together this week, when he appeared on the red carpet at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday. According to him, they're in talks with various networks about making a new show.

“We’re working on something,” Bell told PEOPLE. “I’m excited. I think we have a great idea.”

“[The show] is going to be way more creative, way cooler than just you know the college years or something like that. We knew that if we were ever going to come back, it’s got to be something cool. I’m excited to see what the fans think.

“We’ve known each other for so long, and it really is once in a lifetime in this industry that you get to work with somebody and it clicks like that. He’s just got an amazing comedic wit and incredible timing and he’s really smart and we really get along. So I think that it just kind of all goes together.”

If you were hoping to find out what exactly the pair have in store for us, unfortunately they're both staying tight-lipped about the specifics. Although, according to one of PEOPLE's sources, it is going to “be more adult and really funny.”

As well as general good news for fans of the show, this also seems to be the final nail in the coffin for the infamous feud that sprang up between the two actors in 2017.
