Last night's episode of Game of Thrones was set up to be the show's most epic battle yet - and boy did 'The Long Night' live up to expectations.

After watching everyone at Winterfell wait with bated breath for the Night King and his army of the dead to show up last week, we knew that more than a few character's blood would be shed. Why else would Arya lost her virginity and Brienne become a Sir?!

While some death's - like Theon's - were predictable, others - like Jorah Mormont's - were shocking. I mean, poor Samwell went above and beyond to save the poor bugger from greyscale, only for him to die. Thanks for breaking my heart, GoT, I wanted him to find the love he deserved.

Then there was Lyanna Mormont's death...

Just look at how the show's tiniest badass met her end:

The only thing I'll say about this is that she came in like badass and went out like one. In fact, if I ever have a daughter, I'll be tempted to call her Lyanna. That's the kind of bravery we can all aspire to.

However, there was one death that no one was expecting. NO ONE. The Night King's:

In an instant, all of Arya's training suddenly paid off when she pounced on the Night King like a flying squirrel.

Here are some of the best reactions to his shocking death:

Killing the Night King, however, wasn't the only thing fans were proud of Arya for. In just two episodes, she'd grown up in a way that no one could have seen coming back in season seven:

Now there's only one thing for us GOT fans to do, speculate over the trailer for episode four:
