Ever since the acquisition of Fox by Disney went through, there's only one thing on the minds of comic book fans: when are we going to get Deadpool cracking wise with the rest of the colourful cast in the MCU?

It took us a while to get a faithful adaptation of the character to screen (better luck next time, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), but we eventually got there, and it's made us hungry for even more Deadpool interacting with more characters - just like in the comics.

If you're an avid comic reader, you'll know that some of the best Deadpool collabs are the team-ups between Deadpool and the other wisecracker in a red costume, Spider-Man. And if Marvel are to be believed, that tried-and-tested route could be the best avenue for Deadpool to make it into the MCU.

At the moment, Marvel are trying to figure out what to do with Deadpool now that they own the character once more, and one of their options is to introduce him in the third Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland, which will follow July's Spider-Man: Far From Home.

MCU Cosmics say that Disney subsidiary Marvel are exploring different ways of bringing the Merc with a Mouth into the MCU.

While there are rumblings of him being introduced to the Disney+ streaming platform or having his own solo movie, having him in the next Spider-Man film does indeed confirm that there'll be at least one more solo film with Tom Holland as everybody's favourite arachnid-based superhero.

Check out Tom Holland training in the gym for his Spider-Man role. This is seriously impressive:

The Disney+ option may be a no-go, since all the shows on there at the moment are at a PG 13 rating, while Deadpool... is decidedly not that. We might have a solo movie to look forward to, but regardless of whether he's in the next Spider-Man film, we can start to look forward to Deadpool in the MCU at some point!
