People are freaking out about this missed detail in The Incredibles

Pixar may not be hitting homeruns with every movie now, but there was a long period of time where each and every release from the animation studio was pure gold. By 2004, we had already seen A Bug's Life, two Toy Story movies, Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo. Each of them were brilliant in their own way, with the animation getting better and better with each passing year.

Then came The Incredibles. Dipping their toes into the superhero genre, they kind of blew most of the other competition out of the water. It doesn't feel like it has been 14 years since we were watching it in movie theatres, and in the following years fans were clamouring for a sequel.

Back in 2014, the film's director, Brad Bird, spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about the possibility of a sequel, saying:

"I have been thinking about it. People think that I have not been, but I have. Because I love those characters and love that world.

"I am stroking my chin and scratching my head. I have many, many elements that I think would work really well in another Incredibles film, and if I can get 'em to click all together, I would probably wanna do that."

Well, it now looks like he's found a way to make it all fit, now that a sequel is on its way. In fact, it's meant to be arriving this summer, if you can believe it.

With the new movie coming out, I'm sure there will be plenty of people out there looking to revisit the cartoon classic to see if it still holds up and to remind themselves exactly what went down in the last one. However, even if you've seen the movie countless times, you might have completely missed this small detail.

Earlier this week a Reddit thread popped up with a minor detail that most of us completely overlooked. In the community 'Movie Details', one user revealed to us all:

"In The Incredibles (2004) Frozone isn’t using a pet name in the line “Honey, where’s my super suit?” - it’s his wife’s first name"

One of the most memorable scenes in the original is when Frozone (voiced by Samuel L Jackson) is trying to get ready to join the fight to save the city, only to find his super suit is nowhere to be found. His wife, who he calls 'Honey' features as comic relief in this scene, though she's never actually on screen.

Whether we'll see what Honey looks like in the sequel remains to be seen, but they did release a trailer to whet our appetites in the days until it hits cinemas, after that hilarious teaser trailer from November.

It looks like, in a refreshing turn, Elastigirl will be taking centre stage in this one. I think I'm going to have to revisit the original before it comes out, just to see that super suit scene again.
