'Stranger Things 3' release date confirmed in new teaser trailer
In this new golden age of television, certain shows have risen above the rest to be almost universally adored; endlessly discussed, critically acclaimed and watched by millions.
Breaking Bad would certainly fall into that category, as would The Sopranos and Game of Thrones, and to many, Stranger Things now deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as these great series.
That's why fans were clamouring to know when the highly anticipated third season would arrive and transport us all back to the 80s once more.
Stranger Things has won plaudits not only for its inventive premise and gripping story line, but also for its excellent cast of young actors, perhaps most notably Millie Bobby Brown, who has risen to fame as a result of the show.
Well, fans will be pleased to know that they've only got to wait until the summer for the hit show to return, as a newly released poster revealed that Stranger Things season 3 will be hitting screens on 4th July.
And predictably, fans were extremely enthused at the news.
As per the Independent, cast favourites Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Matarazzo, McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp and Sadie Sink are all set to return.
In November 2018, Millie Bobby Brown reassured concerned fans that she was not leaving the show, after a social media post sparked speculation amongst viewers. Explaining the post to Stephen Colbert, she said;
"[It was] on the last day of the season, not the show.
"I'm just a very emotional person. When it comes to my closest people, like, I'm not good at goodbyes.
"Everyone knows that… it gives me serious sadness and anxiety."
Rest assured, Eleven is not done with Stranger Things, and if the finale to season 2 is anything to go by, fans of the show have got a treat in store when July roles round this year.
