Tom Hanks is well-known as being the nicest guy in Hollywood - and he cemented this title yesterday by visiting a children's hospital to give patients a private screening of Toy Story 4.

The most recent offering from the Disney franchise doesn't officially hit cinemas until June 21 - but Tom took time out of his busy schedule to treat kids and their parents to a special pre-release showing on Monday.

The 62-year-old actor was in London for the premiere of the fourth film, but had another incredibly important screening to make: visiting the children at the Evelina London Children's Hospital in Lambeth.

The Forrest Gump star surprised families with an event at the onsite Medi Cinema, one of six in-hospital cinemas run by the MediCinema charity throughout the UK.

He had a giggle with the kids, chatting and posing for photos with them before sitting down to watch the movie.

Disney has put on a number of screenings across MediCinema sites over the years, raising money for charity along the way.

It's not the first time that the Toy Story star has delighted poorly little ones by paying them a visit, however. Only last week, Tom visited AdventHealth Children’s Hospital in Orlando along with co-star Tim Allen to give kids toys, books, games and more.

Their trip was part of the Disney Team of Heroes initiative, which supplies gifts to over 445 children's hospitals across the country.

The heartwarming event was filmed by Entertainment Tonight - but apparently not all the kids were impressed by the voice actors.

Speaking to the camera, Tim joked that children often become unsettled when they hear Buzz Lightyear's voice coming from a grown man.

"I've done this before, and I get really spooked because the younger boys especially like Buzz Lightyear and they see me and it's like, 'Why's this ugly man talking like Buzz Lightyear?' and it kind of makes them angry, so I'm likely getting a syringe thrown at me," he laughed.

If any of us were feeling sad that this may be the last time we hear Tom and Tim onscreen together, we may not have to worry.

Tom has teased that there could be another film in the franchise after all, telling Hello! that he "doesn't know" if it's the last.

Let's hope Woody and Buzz are partners on our screens for a long time to come! To Infinity and Beyond!
