Tom Holland is still fresh off his appearance in Avengers: Endgame, released this past April (spoilers, sorry), and it's not long until we'll be seeing him again. Just next month he'll be taking on the role of Peter Parker again when Spider-Man: Far From Home is released.

Here's the spoilerific trailer for the upcoming Marvel movie:

After that, Holland has got a few more movies on the way. Next year, the British actor is set to appear in numerous movies, including The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, The Devil All the Time, Chaos Walking, and Pixar's Onward. Following that, he's set to appear in Cherry, which will be directed by Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo.

That seems like a lot to pack into one year, but he's got one more up his sleeve. Sony have recently announced that their Uncharted movie will be hitting theatres during the 2020 holidays.

Based off the video game franchise of the same name, the movie will follow Holland as a young Nathan Drake - a charming rogue who makes a living out of treasure hunting. The games are effectively a mixture of Lara Croft and Indiana Jones, with fans of the series clamouring for a live-action movie ever since the first game was released in 2007.

Given that they've cast a younger actor in the role of Drake, it's likely it will be delving into his past. It might even adapt the flashback sections of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, where we saw how he first met mentor and friend Sully (a role Bryan Cranston has been rumoured for).

The movie has been in development for some years, with Mark Wahlberg initially attached to the role and David O. Russell directing. Fellow Marvel actor Chris Pratt was briefly in talks with it, and Nathan Fillion has expressed interest in the role.

Fillion later played Drake in a well-received fan film that was released in July last year - and many fans still want him to appear as an older Drake after seeing his performance in the video:

Two years ago, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Holland was joining the project, shortly before he starred in Spider-Man: Homecoming. At that point, Shawn Levy was on board to direct, but has since been replaced by Dan Trachtenberg - who is best known for directing 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Black Mirror episode 'Playtest'.

Uncharted is set to be released on December 18, 2020.
