For some of you, it will have felt like 20 - but for those of us who have enjoyed the output of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - it's strange to think that it's been that long since Robert Downey Jr. first donned the armour and launched the interconnected series of films.

I remember that, when the the first and second Avengers cross-over movies came out, some of the nerdiest of us would re-watch the individual instalments that led up to it. In 2019, it's a little harder to do the same before Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas in six weeks' time.

If you want to revisit every single one before you see the explosive finale to the overarching plot, you'll now have to see 21 movies. Twenty-one.

That's 44 hours 56 minutes - not far off two days of solid staring at your TV. Some can do it, sure, and maybe even have a great time too - but if you're lucky enough, you could be paid to sit on your butt and watch them all.

TV company CableTV is offering to pay someone $1,000 to watch all the previously released entries in the MCU back-to-back, or at least all the ones with home releases (so no Captain Marvel).

On top of this, you'll be offered plenty of merchandise, including an Infinity Gauntlet mug, an Iron Man snuggie, all the films on Blu-Ray, and most importantly: a Captain America popcorn popper.

There are some prerequisites you'll need to tick off if you want to get involved, however. First of all, you'll need to be at least 18 years old, and a US citizen (sorry to any wishful applicants from Sokovia, Latveria, Genosha or Wakanda).

CableTV are looking for someone who has "an active, outgoing social media personality" - so anyone who has only tweeted once and doesn't know their Facebook from their Instagram, move along. You'll be enthusiastically live-tweeting the experience and tagging them in along the way, and since the application form includes a field for the number of followers you have - odds are this will make a key difference.

On top of that, you'll need to be "a Marvel fanatic," which you can hopefully prove in your 200-word application letter. So here's hoping you know your Skrulls from your Kree, your Chitauri from your Sakaarans, and your A'askavariians from your Flerkens.

So what does this include? The three phases include three Iron Man movies, three Captain America movies, three Thor movies, three Avengers movies, two Ant-Man movies, two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, as well as The Incredible Hulk, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Black Panther.

Thankfully for your eyeballs, this doesn't include movies based on movies that are outside the MCU, like Deadpool, the X-Men movies, Fantastic Four, Blade, or the first five Spider-Man movies (how far we've come). You also won't have to watch all of the Marvel TV shows either - so those that sat through Iron Fist the first time can count their lucky stars.
