The other celebrities involved in the controversial video included Jamie Dornan, Natalie Portman, Zoe Kravitz, Sia, Lynda Carter, Amy Adams, Mark Ruffalo, and Ashley Benson.

"We're all in this together," the 34-year-old said at the beginning of the video which she posted on Instagram to her 36.8 million followers.

However, while Gadot might have intended the video to be a hopeful and uplifting message, it has received widespread criticism online.

One critic wrote on Twitter: "The video of celebrities singing Imagine to us from their comfortable homes is exactly what Jenna Maroney would've done if there was a pandemic in 30 Rock."

Another pointed out the irony of some of the lyrics being sung by wealthy people, writing: "I've always hated this song. 'Imagine no possessions' sung by some of the wealthiest people in the world'."

A third joked: "Imagine all the people... Eating all the riiiich."

A fourth chimed: "Honey, look at all the rich people singing Imagine. Everything will be alright now, even though we both lost our jobs. This was so much better than money and not cringy at all."

Meanwhile, a fifth alluded to the ventilator shortage being experienced by many hospitals, per CNN, writing how useless the song was compared to potential financial assistance.

"Please doctor... I need a ventilator... I can't breathe..." they wrote.

"We outta those but if you can hold on for another 15 minutes Gal Godot is gonna sing on Live that might help."
