Jason Momoa is your all-around good guy. Not only is he devastating handsome in that rugged way that every 17-year-old hopes to emulate, but he's apparently super down to earth too. Whether he's out drinking with his former Game of Thrones co-stars, or photobombing his fans' snaps, the actor can't help but amuse his fans.

This time, however, his fans had reason for concern: Momoa had shaved off his beard.

The actor took to YouTube yesterday, to share a video of him shaving his beard to promote water in aluminium cans as an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic bottles

"I’m SHAVING this beast off, It’s time to make a change. A change for the better ... for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let’s clean up our oceans, our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminium," he captioned the clip.

And as he shaved his facial hair, the 39-year-old proclaimed "Goodbye Drogo, goodbye Arthur Curry, goodbye Declan!"

But despite bidding adieu to a slew of his bearded characters, people have cause to speculate that there's more to his goodbye to Game of Thrones' Khal Drogo.

While he hasn't appeared as the Dothraki leader since the show's first season - when he died at the hands of his wife, Daenerys - the fact that Momoa chose to keep the character's signature look may be evidence that Drogo makes an appearance in the final seres of the hit HBO television series.

Fans certainly thought so on social media. "Is that cause you finished filming season 8 in GOT?!!!," wrote one, while another corroborated "Wasn’t he allowed to shave years ago? Is he appearing one more time in GoT season 8?"

Speculation about the actor's return began to gather pace last month, when he made an appearance at the season eight premiere in New York. However, it should be noted that many past and present cast members also walked the red carpet, so we can't make any strong conclusions.

Here's hoping, though.
