Although it's hailed as the best day of your life, weddings rarely go to plan. Certainly, if you have been involved in your fair share of nuptials, you'll know that the so-called "wonderful" time always descends into bedlam. Regardless of whether this because it proves impossible to please your officious in-laws, or make everything fit into a tight budget, one thing is guaranteed: unexpected problems will accrue everywhere.

One of the most important things to help soothe these last-minute woes is your entourage - known as your bridesmaids, maid of honour or best man. From helping you with outfit changes to talking you out of a serious case of cold feet, you can't really get through the day without the help of your nearest and dearest.

This, however, wasn't the case for Rebeca Abrantes.

Rebeca Abrentes had scoured the internet to find inspiration for a glamorous bridal photoshoot but quickly ran into a dilemma.

While she saw many photos of brides surrounded by their closest girlfriends - drinking champagne, getting ready and just having a wonderful time - she couldn't replicate this as she didn't have any girlfriends of her own.

The 24-year-old studies computer engineering in Brazil, and credits her lack of female friends to the fact that she is one of four women in her 60-person class - meaning that the majority of her friends are male.

But instead of ditching or tweaking her dream bridal shoot, Rebeca decided to make the best with what she had - and staged it with all of her guy friends - and as you can imagine, the results were incredible.

"I came up with the idea one week before the wedding. I was looking into some ‘making of’ pictures of brides with their gang of girls, all in robes, laughing, drinking champagne and all, and I got a bit sad because I wouldn’t be able to do anything like that," Rebeca asserted.

However, Rebeca and her group of trusty male friends were able to ensure that the majority of her dreams came true. She had her friends by her side, dressed in robes, laughing, getting facials and drinking champagne together. They even did the requisite shots, which saw them measuring the dress and shaving together.

"The photo shoot was super fun," Rebeca continued. "Everyone was taking shots of cheap booze and sometimes we were laughing so much that we had to take some time to recover and go on with the photos."

The bride-to-be shared the photographs to Facebook and naturally the images quickly went viral, garnering thousands of likes and shares.

"I am very happy with the photos. Sometimes I look at them and find myself laughing like crazy," Rebeca added. "But I never imagined this would become so viral."

Personally, I think that these snaps are even more special on account of their unconventionality - don't you agree?
