The new trailer for the Beetlejuice sequel has dropped and Michael Keaton has made a long-awaited return to the character.

Check out the trailer below:

I have to remember to write this without saying Beetlejuice three times in a row.

If you cast your mind back to 1988, Beetlejuice first appeared on our screens from the mind of Tim Burton - which meant that it was as weird as you'd expect.

The movie became somewhat of a classic and people still get a kick out of watching it today.

The original featured Michael Keaton as the title character, who caused havoc in the lives of Adam and Barbara (played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) after they tragically died in a car accident.

They find themselves stuck in their house as ghosts when Lydia (Winona Ryder) arrives with her parents (Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones).

The deceased couple enlists the help of Beetlejuice to scare the unwelcome family from their home but get more than they bargained for given that he has a dangerous approach to helping.

If you're a lover of the original, then the sequel, titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, picks up where the first movie left off.

Tim Burton is back in the director's chair with Keaton reprising his role as the title character, and Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara are also returning.

Joining them is current fan-favorite Jenna Ortega who is currently making Tim Burton-esque creepy things part of who she is as a performer.

If that isn't enough for you, Monica Bellucci will appear as Beetlejuice's wife and Willem Dafoe is also starring in the new movie.

As per Empire, the synopsis reads: "After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's (Ryder) life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid (Ortega), discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.

"With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem."

The trailer also shows the funeral of Jeffrey Jones' character, which leaves us to believe that he won't be returning - which isn't a surprise given he was found guilty of employing a minor for purposes of taking sexually explicit photos in 2003, per NBC Los Angeles.
