Here's what Stacy from the 'Stacy's Mom' music video is doing now

Iconic 90's hit single Stacy's mom continues to be belted out at bars into the early hours of the morning, and despite its status as a guilty pleasure, it still enjoys semi-regular radio time. And don't deny it, us children of the Nineties have been known to put it on from time-to-time too. Stacey's Mom not only acted as many people's sexual awakenings, but it also captured something about that special period between the late 90's and the 00's; a time before Britney Spears had her meltdown, and when every teenage boy was still entranced by the America Pie franchise.

It has, however, been 15 years since the song was released (boy, doesn't that make you feel old?). And I don't know about you, but I occasionally find myself wondering what exactly happened to poor, overlooked Stacey. Luckily for you, reader, I have some answers.

Being the most successful song Fountains of Wayne ever recorded (it was nominated for a Grammy for Best Vocal Pop Performance and everything), Stacey's Mom tells the story of a young boy, who rather than fancying his schoolmate, Stacey, has a thing for her mother - a veritable cougar.

The protagonist does everything he can to get the attention of Stacey's mom, including mowing her lawn and fetching her drinks. It all takes a rather bizarre twist, however, when Stacey walks in on him jerking off to images of her mother, who just happens to be dressed in a skimpy bikini. Yes, this was the heyday of the music video, folks.

But thankfully the actress who played Stacey, Gianna Dispenza, hasn't had to spent the rest of her days in the shadow of her fictional mother.

Stacey's real name is Gianna Dispenza and she's now an artist, working in both painting and sculpting. It's certainly a far cry from the Stacey that we came to know in 2003.

And if you find yourself wondering what happened to Stacey's mom, don't fret, I have that intel too. Kiwi model, Rachel Hunter, played the cougar, and she's had a pretty prolific career since. She's appeared in Vogue, Elle, Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan after starring in the 2003 music video, as well as being on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue twice. And Stacey's Mom isn't the first time that she's played a MILF either. She's also credited as the "sexy soccer mom" in the Benchwarmers, which debuted just three years after the Fountains of Wayne music video.

As to the kid who was desperately in love with Stacey's mom, Shane Haboucha is now 27-years-old and has appeared in a slew of television shows throughout the 2000's including fan favourites such as The O.C, Law and Order, Special Victims Unit, That's So Raven, Justice League and Without a Trace.

So sure, the cast of Stacey's Mom have all gone on to do bigger and better things, but to us they will forever be associated with that seminal song.
In other news, people are watching Friends for the first time and their reactions are everything.
