In case you missed it, recently Ariana Grande tried to teach us all how to be better people and met with her enemy Piers Morgan to maturely discuss their differences.

After bumping into the British journalist in a restaurant, Ariana announced on social media that the pair had "some laughs and some very productive conversation", and expressed her hopes to make Piers into a feminist some day.

However, many of the singer's fans were having none of it. Soon after their chance meeting was made public, hundreds of people took to social media to slam the 25-year-old for befriending the TV host after his controversial comments about female sexuality. Soon enough, the One Last Time star had been accused of being a "complacent white woman" who had betrayed her female fans.

Now, Ariana has taken to social media once again to defend herself and make her stance on matters clear.

Responding to one fan on Twitter, she wrote that she refused to stop having calm conversations with people she disagreed with, saying: "Nah, I was anything but complacent in our conversation that none of u heard. It saddens me that u’d assume that just because I have hope that a person can change. I won’t stop having conversations w people I disagree w when I see the opportunity to. Hope u would’ve done the same [sic]".

She also explained why she wasn't going to ignore criticism of her behaviour, saying: "Nah it’s just important to me. I’m not tryna be misunderstood when it’s of this much importance tbh."

To finish things off, she put that she is well aware of the fact that she is not a "f**king miracle worker" when it comes to changing the mindsets of people like Piers, but liked to try with people nonetheless.

"Like.... do people think I think I succeeded and that I’m some kind of f**king miracle worker?" she wrote. "F**k no. Are u all insane? Bruh I just wanted to try. And speak my mind. I try my best to have faith in people. as hard as it is. Anyway....... goodnight."

Her reaction to the latest criticism made a lot of fans out there proud, with one writing: "you did nothing wrong my girl. some people on this app are obsessed with making you look like the bad guy. you and piers both know what happens & that’s all that matters. i love you. i’m sorry you feel this way:( [sic]."

Another added: "You’re literally a burst of sunshine ari. When people see darkness you see light and opportunity growth. Wishing you nothing but a successful and meaningful 2019."

The thank u, next songstress most recently butted heads with Piers after he attacked girl band Little Mix for posing naked, asking: "Why don't we stop pretending that getting your kit off is feminist empowerment?" The ITV presenter mocked their "feminist statement" and charged the group with using sex to sell records, but was soon accosted by Ariana's mother, Joan.

After turning his attention to Ariana's decision to use her own sexuality "to sell records", the singer was forced to step in and defend herself. She spoke out in defence of all women, writing:  "I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice.  & we will keep fighting til people understand. i say this w all due respect but thank u, next [sic]."

She added: "also @piersmorgan, i look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it. [sic]"

I don't know about you, but I'd say Ariana dealt with this situation pretty perfectly.
