Every parent has sung to their baby to calm them down - but it's rare to be a dad who is up against a three-time Grammy Award-winning mum.

That's where Mike Fisher, rather unfortunately, found himself this week.

His wife, singing superstar Carrie Underwood, uploaded a hilarious video of their five-month-old Jacob Bryan wailing when he sang - but absolutely loving life when his mother belted out the lyrics.

The footage, posted to Instagram, showed the little one lying on a bed while his parents sang Vince Gill’s 1992 classic I Still Believe In You.

He cries uncontrollably when his 39-year-old father belts out the words, but looks completely at peace and in awe when his songstress mum takes over.

"Everyone's a critic..." Carrie quipped on Instagram when she uploaded the hilarious video.

Her athlete hubby wasn't happy with the burn though, taking to the comment section to protest. "The real reason is he was hungry and wanted your food #notmysinging ??," he wrote.

The adorable family was blessed with its fourth member early in 2019, with little Jacob arriving in the early hours of Monday, January 21. The country music star and Mike are already parents to three-year-old Isaiah, who was born in February 2015.

All Underwood fans know that the end of 2017 was a hard time for her, with the star sustaining some nasty injuries after suffering a frightening fall in November.

However, in September, the singer revealed that 2017 and the beginning of 2018 were tougher than any fan could have imagined, revealing that she suffered through three miscarriages in an emotional interview on CBS Sunday Morning.

Carrie claimed that she tried to not allow herself to feel anger at the situation, stating:  "I had always been afraid to be angry because we are so blessed. And my son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing. And he’s the best thing in the world.

"And I’m like, 'If we can never have any other kids, that’s okay because he’s amazing. And I have this amazing life ... What can I complain about? I can’t. I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid. Can I be mad? No."'

We're so glad you finally got your happily ever after, Carrie! And Mike, you better work on that singing before you try baby Jacob again.
