If you were fortunate enough to be a teenager in the emo era of the early to mid-2000s, then you've one hundred percent heard of My Chemical Romance. Even if you think you haven't. With hits like Welcome To The Black Parade, Teenagers and Na Na Na etched in my memory like that of a cherished family member, 2013 was a sad year for all of us.

That was the year that My Chemical Romance officially disbanded; saying So Long and Goodnight to the music scene, and since then we've had to settle for Spotify and old music videos on YouTube. But My Chemical Romance might be getting back together, according to the most unlikely of sources - here's what we know so far.

It all started with the Jonas Brothers - believe it or not - as they let slip some dirt about everybody's favourite emo band during an interview on KISS FM Breakfast Show.

"I’ve got some dirt. My Chemical Romance apparently were rehearsing next to us in New York recently. I thought they broke up, so I don’t know... but that's the gossip," said Joe Jonas, getting tongues a-wagging, and those rumours only intensified when James Dewees, touring guitarist for MCR from 2007-2013 told fans at a recent show that he "might be working on something".

Of course, we've got to take things with a pinch of salt. In February, of course, frontman Gerard Way spoke about the unique pressures that led to the band's breakup, speaking to the Guardian:

"When things start to succeed and go really well…that’s when a lot of people start to have an opinion and that’s when you run into struggle…everybody had a f**king opinion about what MCR should be. So it made it difficult to figure out what direction to take next. You get caught up in this trap of ‘Is it ever gonna be good enough?’"

He did admit in that same interview that he did miss playing with the band, though he did seem pessimistic on MCR getting back together. "We definitely get offers regularly to reunite – it’s a constant thing…It’s flattering, it’s really nice of people…I miss playing with the guys, but I don’t think so," he said - but had some ideas about how the band would change if they got back together too:

"I think if we ever did MCR again, we wouldn’t be in that machine anymore. It would literally just be like: ‘Here’s a new piece of music, we’re putting this out and that’s it, this is not up for debate.’"

Clear as mud, right? But there's more than enough information here to at least look into returning to the Black Parade, just in case.
