16 of the funniest tweets to come from the Winter Olympics

Aside from the medals, we've had a lot of gold come out of this year's Winter Olympics. There's a lot going down in Pyeongchang right now, and with the closing ceremony coming up on Sunday, this is our last week of the competitive winter sports and all the fun that goes along with it.

We've had glorious wins from the likes of snowboarder Chloe Kim, who Tweeted she was "hangry" before her big event (all of us, Chloe, all of us), as well as from the dude who slept in because he stayed up too late watching TV and almost missed his competition.

There have been mid-routine wardrobe malfunctions which could've gone horribly wrong, as well as the ice-skaters who were told to tone it down a bit on account of their routine being too damn sexy.

And I'm sorry but I'm just going to put it out there that Adam Rippon is/was the best thing about the whole event. The way he dealt with homophobic haters, his newfound friendship with Britney Spears and Reese Witherspoon, and that emosh routine set to Coldplay – Adam's been the real MVP of PyeongChang 2018. And it's all thanks to Twitter that we got to know him better.

But let's just take the spotlight off Adam Rippon for a moment and acknowledge that the other people of the internet have also been coming up with some very good and high-quality tweets about the Winter Olympics. And let's start with one about Adam because why the heck not...

1. Because we can all relate

2. Please clarify

3. For the children's sake, come on

4. This is too real

5. Thanks for hosting, btw

6. Hell YEAH they do

7. This would really add some perspective, y'know

8. LOL

9. Also LOL

10. It doesn't take long to become an expert

11. Caesar, is that you?

12. Should we though?

13. I heard it's well below freezing most days

14. Come oooon, triple axel

15. I'd sure like to see him try

16. End of story

The tweets are almost as entertaining as the events themselves, and it's a shame the Games are almost over. Oh well, guess we'll have to wait until 2022 in Beijing for the next ones!
