Sydney Sweeney has seemingly clapped back at a Hollywood producer's hateful comments regarding her looks in a scathing social media post.
The 26-year-old actress' appearance and acting skills had been publicly criticized by film producer Carol Baum last week during a panel discussion in Pleasantville, New York.
Baum, known for her work on Father of the Bride, shockingly told an audience: "I don’t get Sydney Sweeney...I wanted to know who she is and why everybody’s talking about her," as captured by the Daily Mail.
She described the actress' rom-com Anyone But You as "unwatchable" and said that her students at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts couldn’t give a satisfactory reason why the star's career had taken off.
In addition to this, Baum added: "I said to my class, 'Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?'" she recalled. "Nobody had an answer."
However, the producer then admitted that she would take on a project if the Euphoria star starred in it. "We all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light? Nobody I know," she said. "Your job is to get the movie made."
Shortly after her comments circulated online, Sydney's reps responded, saying: "How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman," per E! News.
"If that's what she's learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, that's shameful," they continued. "To unjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes about Ms. Baum's character."
Following this, Baum revealed to TMZ that she wished she had never uttered those words. "Cr***ing on an actor like that usually isn't my style," she admitted.
The White Lotus actress has made her feelings towards the discourse about her appearance clear after sharing her latest Instagram post which was captioned: "Good times and tan lines."
Several of the pictures show Sweeney in a grey sweater that features a cartoon girl skipping and the words: “Sorry for having great t**s”.
Elsewhere in the selection of images, the Handmaid's Tale star is seen having fun with her friends and loved ones.
Many fans took to the comment section to praise her, as one user wrote: "Imma need that sweatshirt."
Another said: "Sydney I don't care what negative comments ppl are saying about you. But I believe [you're] doing a great job," while a third commented: "Moisturized, hydrated, and UNBOTHERED!"
