Sex robots that will also do your chores are on their way to end your relationship

In a world where women are still battling for gender equality, it can often seem like men are doing all that they can to stop that from happening. Whether it's the continued existence of the glass ceiling, the lack of female political representatives in government, or the constant body-shaming and criticism that the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner receive for simply taking ownership of their bodies, men are still struggling with the idea of equality.

This notion is only heightened by the growing trend in complex and expensive sex dolls. As men begin to lose their grip on the ownership of females, they've turned to sex dolls in order to get their fix. Not content with the concept of women putting down the washing up gloves and focusing on their careers, men have created sex dolls that will not only get down and dirty with them, but will also do the housework.

Exdoll, in Dalian China, is now investing in AI technology so that the new generation of sex robots are fitted with systems similar to that of Alexa and Siri and is connected to the internet. This will enable users of the robots to chat, sing and have sex with them, but also, if you have a smart home system, the robots will be able to carry out tasks around the house.

The doll, which will be called Xiaodie, is on sale for $4,000, which while being fairly expensive for something you are more than likely just going to get freaky with (your hand doesn't cost any money btw), doesn't seem too bad for something that can also turn on the washing machine for you.

Wu Xingliang, Exdoll marketing director, told AFP: "China has a shortage of women, and this is a factor in why there's this demand, but they're not just for sex.

"We're designing them so they can have meaningful conversations with you and help with chores around the house."

Wu also adds that the robots could potentially be repurposed and used as 'medical assistants' or 'receptionists', claiming that the tech is already pretty much spot-on and that all that is left to sort is that the dolls are as human-like as possible. The company also offer complete customization on their Dolls, with it being possible to alter the eye color, breast size and even the amount of pubic hair. You know, all the things you can't control when it comes to a living, breathing woman.

Sergio Santos, who is involved in a relationship with an advanced AI doll named Samantha, said that in the future "many people will shun human romances in favor of relationships with robots".

"In 100 years it will happen," he said. "So I'm hoping to drive the conversation and get people speaking about it, to make it more 'normal'."

While the ability of the robots is quite limited for now, with it all being controlled by an app, things could get more advanced in the future. Who knows, give it a few years and you might come home to your wife putting dinner in the oven and a spotless house. Expect, she's not your wife, is she?
