Being turned away by bouncers is something that has happened to each and every one one of us. At the time, it is the most humiliating thing you could ever endure - with it feeling like your whole world is imploding.

There you are; beer stains all over your white t-shirt, eyes red, smelling faintly of the fateful concoction that is beer, wine, rum and cigarettes. You've been out since 1pm and it's now 3am, "how many have you had, pal?" asks the bouncer. "Just three..." you slur back.

Then, suddenly, you're walking away from the club with your tail firmly between your legs.

It's over. You're not getting in.

But while you simply got turned away for being a slurry, bumbling mess, there are incidents of people getting refused entry for more controversial reasons. Yes, the bouncer may have been overzealous, but their reason for refusing you is likely to be nowhere near as bad as the one given to this woman over in Argentina.

Agustina Rios Martinez was out to celebrate her friend's birthday at the Rose in Rio club In Buenos Aires. But, upon arriving at the front door ready to party, the bouncer told Agustina that she didn't "hit the target" and that she wasn't "the kind of girl who goes to this place".

Taking to her Facebook to document her experience, Agustina said:

"All my life I have been insulted, shouted at in the street, and mocked because I was a fatty, but not letting me in a club because of my physical appearance! It was the worst thing that happened to me so far.

"I share this with you so that you try not to go to these type of shit places that have no brain and believe they can manage the universe."

The post has blown up on Facebook with it being shared and commented on by thousands of people, with the majority offering up messages of support for the woman. One person wrote:

"I send you a big hug and I'm sorry you had to go through such a shitty situation. Don't let these people get you down, on the contrary, let it give you more strength and pride to make up for who you are."

Another added: "Don't let it affect you, no one has the right to discriminate for no reason! Enjoy the life chubby, skinny is not what matters but the desire to better yourself day to day, you are more than a body."

Agustina had included a link through to the Facebook account of the bouncer in question, which now appears to have been deleted, more than likely due to the amount of abuse he was catching.

According to her brother, Agustina had a panic attack as a result of the incident.

Hopefully, given the amount of love and support she is receiving, Agustina will be feeling a bit better about the whole ordeal. I'm sure the club will welcome her back with open arms (and a free bottle of vodka).
