Mom discovers the dress she's been wearing for years has a super NSFW pattern on it

With the current heatwave sweeping across parts of the US and UK, people trapped in the worst-affected areas are currently frantically digging through their closets and wardrobes in order to find something suitable to wear. Short-shorts, spaghetti straps, and full-on shirtlessness have made their comebacks in recent weeks as we try to tackle the swelteringly high temperatures - but even that doesn't make much of a difference.

With this in mind, then, the best solution is probably to just don whatever it is you're most comfortable in, get yourself to an airconditioned building, and wait out this heatpocalypse as best you can.

That is unless your favourite item of clothing happens to have a secret Not Safe For Work design - in which case, you might want to reconsider wearing it out in public. But hey, when's that ever going to happen? Well, as it turns out - surprisingly often.

In a post on Imgur, one person shared an image of a piece of clothing which their mother owned. "My mom has been wearing this summer dress for years and no one noticed the pattern until now," they said.

At first, the dress seems like a standard floral print. Sure it might be a tiny bit gaudy, and the whole blue-brown-green combo isn't for everyone - but is there really that much wrong with it?

Just take a look for yourself and see if you can work it out:

Can't quite pick it out? Maybe this will help:

Yup, some poor woman has been walking around for literal years while wearing a dress that quite clearly has the silhouette of a nude lady on it.

Can you imagine what everyone who did notice the pattern must have thought?

Somehow, though, this isn't the first time an unsuspecting person has proudly displayed something super NSFW before being called out on the internet.

Just a few weeks ago, one woman went viral for sporting a dress that looked very much like a vagina.

"So I bought this dress today because I really liked it," the woman said. "I got home and put it on for hubby and any guesses first thing he said?? #dressfail#onceyouseeyoucantunsee."

And the commenters were equally amused.

"Do you think a man designed it? I also wonder if they totally knew what they were doing and wanted to see how many people would still buy it?" wrote one person.

"Oh my giddy aunt - that is unfortunate!" said another. "I guess he noticed its apparent similarity to a vajayjay like my hubby did! Please let us know what the salesperson says when you return it and give them the reason as to why you can no longer wear this dress."

Clearly, the lesson here is to double check the design of something before committing to buy it. From a distance, that lovely little floral number might look like the sort of thing your old nan would like, but she might not be best pleased when she sees it's covered in genitalia.
