A mom has been praised on social media after candidly sharing her experiences at a postpartum care facility.

Giving birth to a baby can spark a variety of powerful emotions, from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety. But it can also result in something you might not expect - depression.

This is a common phenomenon defined as "postpartum depression" AKA "baby blues" and can happen to anyone who's given birth, no matter whether you're a new mother or an experienced one.

The Mayo Clinic states that symptoms of the illness commonly include "mood swings, crying spells, anxiety and difficulty sleeping."

However, new mothers in Malaysia have the option of a helping hand through the difficult first weeks of motherhood thanks to state-of-the-art facilities designed for moms and babies.

One mom has been praised after she took to social media to share her experience of being admitted into a postpartum care facility in Malaysia.

"Right after I gave birth, I decided to stay at a postpartum care facility," she said in the video, going on to describe it as "a hotel for babies and new mothers."

"They have registered doctors, nurses, and consultants here so most of the time, the nurses take care of the baby," she continued.

Have a look at the video below:

The new mom went on to show what a day in the life looks like, starting off with breakfast in bed before heading off to educational classes on how to properly take care of a child.

The place also has "craft workshops", "postnatal yoga" and other activities that mothers can engage in to keep themselves relaxed and occupied.

She also added that she's well taken care of while she's a patient there which allows herself to "heal and rest while [her] baby is being taken care of at the nursery."

Hundreds of social media users took to the comment section to praise the woman for her rawness as well as the facility for providing such good care for new moms.

"Wow this is a great option for new moms," wrote one user while another added: "Wahh congrats ya !! This place look nice."

A third also stated: "Wow I mean Wow. From a mother to mother I am happy for u. Enjoy motherhood... my baby is almost 9 and I love everything about Him and this whole motherhood."

Others also congratulated the new mom on her journey: "Congratulations, welcome to the new born baby. And, speedy recovery for you."

In the future, we hope to see more facilities such as this one become readily available to those who need it.
