Yesterday was the first official day of summer - and you know what that means: it's officially acceptable to be seen guzzling a fruity cocktail at any time of the day!

M&S, bless their hearts, are helping us out in our mission to be slightly tipsy until October by introducing four new cocktails in a can.

The major British retailer is well known for its vast selection of tasty alcoholic canned beverages - this including the likes of the classic Gin & Tonic, Mojito, Pina Colada and Pornstar Martini.

However, with the arrival of the Cherry Spritzer, Peach Spritzer, Aperitivo Spritzer and Vermouth & Tonic cocktail, they have surpassed our exceptions. Let us pause for a round of applause.

Now that we've commended them for their hard work, let's delve deeper into the new offerings.

The Cherry Spritzer is made with cherry juice and a delicate Spanish rose, and M&S are hand-on-heart promising that "this sparkling spritzer will add a summer vibe to any occasion".

Next up is the Peach Spritzer, which is made with similar ingredients - sweet peach juice and crisp Spanish white wine - and the brand claim that it is destined to be a "fruity festival favourite. One to get the party started!"

Did someone say party? Now we're interested.

If you love an Aperol spritz, the Aperitivo Spritzer is the drink for you, with M&S stating: "It's the on-trend orange shade that signals the start of the summer... This Aperitivo Spritzer is a classic blend of white wine and fragrant orange bitters."

Finally, if you're not sufficiently tipsy by drinking all three so far, you can always check out the Vermouth & Tonic, which is "a refreshing must-have for sunny festival days! Indian tonic water is the perfect match for crisp vermouth in this lightly sparkling cocktail."

Each tin is 5.5 per cent VOL, and costs £2. All four cocktails are available to pick up from M&S Food now. Although, with a heatwave on the horizon, you'll have to be quick!
