A child's glow-in-the-dark headgear has left many angry plane passengers calling for "child-free" flights.

Traveling on an airplane can be an unpleasant experience for some people. Whether it's the long hours of staying in the same position, the lack of legroom, or sometimes stale food... it can sometimes be pretty dreadful.

The experience can become even more nightmarish for both parents and other passengers when a toddler is sporting a flashy headgear when the lights have been turned off so that other travelers can sleep, as this planeful of passengers found out.

Watch the video below:

In the video shared on Instagram, a child can be seen wearing a fluffy rabbit hat which flashes with brightly-colored LED lights, and the ears of which stand up when the child presses it.

Naturally, the child appeared to be having a great time making the ears stand upright as the hat illuminated half the cabin.

This beaming outfit left other passengers on the flight less than impressed as people tried to get some sleep, only for the outfit to keep them awake.

The incident got under people's skin so much that some even called for the introduction of child-free flights. One person wrote: "This is why we need adult-only flights. I'd happily pay more for one," and another person commented: "This is why we need the option for a no-kids flight when booking."

A flight attendant shared what they would do in a situation like this, penning: "As a flight attendant I'd say put that it away. There are people trying to rest, read, watch a movie, etc. Also, there are people with disabilities and this can be incredibly annoying and irritating for them.

"Leave stuff like this for home or amusement parks. Not in a tiny tin can at 30,000 ft in the air. Some folks have sensitive eyes please consider others around you," they added.

One angry user shared that the lights could be dangerous for fellow passengers, explaining: "As someone with severe ADHD and light sensitivity/overstimulation issues… I would be LIVID. I’m normally not a Karen and just let things go but I would be creating such a stink and bugging the stewardess to do something."

Someone else also had medical concerns for those on board: "Very upsetting.. no thought for other people. Things like this can cause an epileptic seizure for people who suffer from epilepsy."

Child-free flights aren't the only hot topic on social media. Recently, people have taken to TikTok to share that they refuse to switch seats on airplanes so that couples or families can sit together.

One woman named Dr. Sabra - who goes by the handle @lifewithdrsabra on TikTok - was praised by viewers after she revealed that she was recently asked to move from her 1A plane seat during a flight to accommodate another passenger's wish.

If you don't know, the 1A seat is the first seat in the first row of a plane and resides in the first class section. The seat is deemed to be the most popular and sought-after among travelers who fly first class.

In the clip, she wrote in the overlay text: "POV: Flight agent asks me if I want to give up my 1A seat so a child sits with their family," and from the cheerful expression on Dr. Sabra's face you can tell that she did not agree to the proposal and was extremely happy to have turned down the request.

The doctor also used a popular TikTok audio of a person saying: "Girl, f*** them kids and f*** you too," which is often utilized by creators to accompany clips in which they choose not to make sacrifices for other people’s children.
