'Modern Family' star reveals how he pranked his girlfriend for two months with his striking mustache
By this point, it's no secret that Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet loves to prank people - just watch any behind-the-scenes footage and you'll see!
But what is it like being the person who has to hang out with a rascal like that 24/7?
Nope, we don't mean Eric's onscreen hubby Jesse Tyler Ferguson. This time we're talking about Lindsay Schweitzer, the actor's long-term girlfriend!
Watch Eric explain how he pranked his girlfriend for two months here:
On The Ellen Denegeres Show this week, Eric revealed that his girlfriend doesn't have an easy time when it comes to his escapades - and he even had one prank going for two months!
Firstly, the 47-year-old admitted that he loves to mess with Lindsay using old classics, this including tricking the pediatric nurse into posing for a photo when it's really a video.
However, his greatest achievement so far was when he grew a "ridiculous" mustache that she hated and told her it had to stay for Modern Family.
Explaining the scenario to the host, Eric said: "The best prank I ever got on her was, I grew a mustache, a ridiculous mustache. She hated it and I convinced her that the Modern Family writers saw my mustache and they loved it, it was going in the last season and they said 'You know what, we want Cam to have that mustache for the season premiere'.
"So I had the creator Chris Lloyd, one of our executive producers send me fake emails saying, here's our story ideas for the mustache. She's like, 'You have gotta be kidding me.'"
He continued: "So she had to live with the mustache for two months. The night before Modern Family started, I got up in the middle of the night and shaved it off. And then just woke up, she wakes up in the morning and looks at me and is like 'Your mustache is gone'.
What was it like growing up on Modern Family? Ariel Winter tells all here:
"I'm like 'What! Are you kidding me? Are you serious? Oh my God. I sleep shaved, I sleep shaved!' All just for that moment."
It sure takes dedication to keep up a prank for two months - but if anyone could do it, it's obviously Eric!
The Secret Life of Pets star cheekily added earlier in the show: "Somebody asked me one time: 'If you had to guess, how many hours a week have you spent messing with other people in your life?' I'm like 'A lot'."
We feel for you Lindsay, we really do!
