Study reveals what kind of man women find most attractive
All of us have a type. For some of us, it'll be a Star Trek fanatic who doesn't like going outside and prefers to stay indoors in their underwear; for others, it'll be and outdoors-y person, who loves hiking and long country walks. But despite everyone's type seemingly being unique to them, researchers still love to look into what makes us attracted to each other.
Recently, it emerged that women prefer a dad bod over a chiselled set of abs, and they also apparently like bald men. However, a new study has also revealed that women have another preference when it comes to men, and this one is a bit more unique.
While there can be no doubt that the notion of men having to be tall, dark and handsome is slowly in decline, the picture that is being created of the ideal modern man is very bizarre. If you accumulate all of the recent revelations regarding women's preferences when it comes to finding a partner to settle down with, the new "hunk" would be chubby, bald, and... tattooed.
That's right gents, women apparently love a man who is sporting a bit of ink. According to research conducted by the dating app Type, a massive 64 per cent of women stated that they have a preference for men with tattoos, compared to 39 per cent of men saying that they liked a tattooed woman.
The liking for ink also holds up for same-sex couples as well, with both men and women saying that they see "some" tattoos as the optimum when it comes to finding love.
Steve Bryson, the owner of Type, spoke to the Metro about the revelations, saying:
"I’ve always fancied girls with tattoos ever since I dated a girl at college that had a massive tattoo across her back"
"I think it says something about their personality that they’re fun, friendly and up for a good time.
"I’ve only got one small tattoo myself, but I like girls that have lots of tattoos. It makes them unique – no two tattoos are exactly the same."
Benno Spencer, the CEO of Type, also spoke about the research, saying that he was "surprised" by the trend.
"We’ve been surprised just how strong the trends are when it comes to tattoos. So many of our users are looking for someone with a bit of body art – it’s clearly a turn on for both men and women."
As I said earlier, this is not the first type of research to be carried out in order to reveal what men and women find attractive, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. But if you're a man who is bald, chubby and tattooed, you might just be onto something.
Now, if after reading this you're thinking about getting a little of ink in order to boost your sex appeal, maybe take a look at these 10 important things to think about before you get a tattoo. After all, they're on you for life.
