I don't know about you guys, but I've always wanted to go to Universal Studios.

Disneyland might be the Happiest Place On Earth and all that, but before too long, the novelty wears off and you realise you've been hanging out for six hours with a pimply-faced teen in a giant, suffocating Goofy-shaped coffin. Nah - Universal Studios is where it's at.

But like most good things in life, tickets to Universal Studios aren't easy or cheap to come by. Easily setting you back around $100, if you don't already live in Hollywood (like most people), it's enough money to limit you to a once-in-a-lifetime visit.

But sometimes in life, you get a lucky break, and for a limited time, tickets to Universal Studios are a lot cheaper than they would be usually, and it's all down to an unexpected source.

Next time you're in a Costco, buying toilet paper in bulk and generally having the time of your life, perhaps it's worth having a look for tickets to Universal Studios, because they're being sold at a ridiculous discount right now.

You can get three full-visit passes to Universal Studios for around $139 at Costco, which is a little over $46 a head. It's an incredible deal - so incredible, Costco are limiting buyers to six tickets a person, lest they start a stampede right there in the Costco.

Wait wait wait! Hold on - before you head off to your nearest Costco, I should mention that there's a little bit of fine print you should read beforehand.

For starters, the tickets are only valid for a 12 month period after you buy them. You'll have had to have used the first one at least by June 2020, so if you're going on your fourth date with someone you really like, you're going to have to buy tickets for your hypothetical kids closer to the time.

Sorry.

While you're there, why not pay a quick visit to Mario and the rest of the Nintendo gang?

There are also a few days where your tickets won't be valid ie. the peak days or during holiday season, where everyone and their dog will be at the Studios. There's also the option of an 18-month pass for just $219.99 at Costco; that's not even an option at the Universal Studios website, and the 12-month version you can buy will set you back $619.

Oh my. What witchcraft have Costco pulled off to get you such cheap tickets to Universal Studios? I don't know either, but I'm not sticking around to find out; I'm heading to my nearest Costco before Universal come to their senses. See you guys in Hollywood?
