'Unbeatable' Kung fu master takes on MMA fighter and the result has left fans livid
Martial arts is one of the most respected sports in the world, and if you claim to be related to Ip Man - AKA history's most notorious Wing Chun teacher - then you're going to have to prove it. After all, he was the man responsible for teaching Hollywood icon Bruce Lee. So if you are a member of Ip Man's family, you're going to be expected to more than hold your own in a fight.
But when Ding Hao stepped up to face 39-year-old MMA fighter Xu Xiaodong, he proved that a talent for martial arts certainly doesn't run in the family (that, or his claim about his famous relation was completely fabricated).
In the fight, Sing looks like he hasn't got a clue what he's doing and he's barely able to even punch Xu. However, despite the fact that the "master" was clearly beaten, the referee declared a draw, angering everyone who'd watched the fight.
From this fight, it would certainly appear that he is proving that effortlessly...
After a mere three rounds with the MMA fighter, the self-proclaimed "unbeatable" Kung Fu master was left more than a little red-faced and dazed.
While this was undoubtedly embarrassing for Ding, it turns out that this was not the first time that Xu has destroyed a supposed martial arts "master". He did exactly the same thing with a tai chi master last year to prove martial arts are a "scam".
According to Ding's master, Yu Changhua, however, the viral clip of the epic takedown isn't a true representation of the fight itself. Speaking to Shanghai Great Sports, Changhua stated:
"Ding Hao was in a good mood. He was playing and was not injured. It is estimated that Xu Xiaodong's injury was even worse than he.
Xu Xiaodong was wearing a braces and braces. In front of the few punches, his teeth must collapse. He certainly will not allow you to interview, or you will see him mouth swollen.
Everyone is injured, so the host judges two people to win."
But given Xu's determination to denounce all martial arts disciplines, this does the beg the question: Will he ever dare to step in the ring with Irish MMA icon Conor McGregor? One thing's for sure, there would definitely be an undisputed victor in that match.
It's safe to say that one of the greatest things about being human - or in the case of these fighters, a sportsperson - is that we can learn from other people's mistakes. So even if you think you're the best, keep your mouth shut and prove it when it counts.
