Whether you believe in ghosts or not, there is no doubt that we've all had a moment whereby we think that there may be some form of "presence" in the room. It can happen at any time of the day but, more often than not, these events tend to occur during the night - which only serves to heighten the fear and panic.

However, while these incidents tend to be nothing more than a clunking pipe or a creaking door, for one person, at least, there was a physical remnant of the spirit's visit.

Taking to Mumsnet, user Chipshopninja, disclosed that she and her partner were paid a visit by a "masturbating ghost" during the night and that the spirit left behind a disgusting gift for them.

In her story, the woman revealed that the couple were woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of their bedroom door being opened. However, assuming that it was their young child simply coming to get in their bed after a bad dream, neither adult decided to get up... but the child never entered the room. "Last night DP [darling partner] woke up around 1am because he heard our bedroom door open (it's a squeaky bugger, need some WD40 but that's by the by)

"He didn't get up, expecting our nocturnal ds to tap him on the shoulder announcing he had had a bad dream etc....but nothing! He then heard the bedroom door close."

Obviously disturbed by the occurrence, the husband decided to get up and check on the child. But, as soon as he stepped out of the bedroom, his foot landed in a wet patch. While it would be understandable to think that the puddle may have been caused by the child getting up in the night or the dog having an accident, the man checked on both and they were fast asleep.

"He got out of bed and went to check on DS [darling son]. Just outside our bedroom door he stepped in a large wet patch (which, in a very un-DP fashion he later cleaned up) he checked on our DS, fast asleep all tucked in under his duvet.

"He then went downstairs to check on the dog, fast asleep in the living room. So slightly bemused he came back to bed." 

Perplexed by what the strange puddle could be, the man did what all men do: went straight back to sleep. However, after explaining to his wife what happened, she had one explanation for the spooky event: a masturbating ghost.

"He relayed all this to me this morning...I say spunking ghost...anyone else like to hazard a guess?"

Who knows what could've caused the puddle in the house. But, if it was a ghost, that is certainly one way to announce your presence in the physical world. Surely a spooky noise and a pushed over plant pot would've sufficed?
