If we know one thing about the royal wedding, it's this: Meghan Markle looked absolutely stunning. Some (or a whole lot of people on social media) would even go as far to say that she looked like a Disney princess.

However, if we're being completely honest, not everyone appreciated the American actress' wedding dress, designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller, the artistic director of French fashion house Givenchy. In fact, hundreds of people took to social media to post of their dissatisfaction with the gown, with many naming it "boring", "tired" and "the biggest anti-climax of the year".

Maybe the most brutal post of all came from Gary Janetti, who uploaded a picture of Prince George looking over his shoulder, with the caption "I wonder when she's going to change into her dress".

Of course, everyone is allowed to have their own opinion on what many are naming 'the dress of the year'. However, some people on Twitter became a little savage when they began comparing it with Kate Middleton's wedding dress from back in 2011, with many stating that Meghan's gown just didn't take their breath away in the same way.

Nonetheless, Meghan didn't have to worry, because she had plenty of people willing to jump in and defend her honour. Perhaps the most cut-throat response came from Twitter user @milanoysl, who wrote: "meghan’s dress was so elegant and appropriate and if you didn’t like it you’re probably tacky".

User @britt_saunders also made a valid point when she wrote: "I love how all of these women on the internet are criticising Meghan’s wedding dress, it almost seems as if they thought it was their own wedding? Maybe Meghan liked it? No one cares Susan, 42 from North Sydney so shut the f*** up thank you."

Despite the fight over the Suits star's first wedding dress, there appeared to be a unanimous consensus that her second dress was simply gorgeous. The new Duchess of Sussex stunned when she attended the evening reception wearing a lily white, silk crepe Stella McCartney halter-neck design that set tongues wagging once again on social media.

The couple also left Windsor Castle in a silver blue Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero, for a reception hosted by Prince Charles at Frogmore House Castle.

According to reports, the royal family and their guests partied into the early hours of Saturday morning at a reception complete with spectacular fireworks, a "naughty" speech from best man Prince William, an unknown "surprise" from compere James Corden and a DJ set from Idris Elba.

In addition, Meghan is said to have given a moving speech where she thanked the royals for welcoming her into the family, while her new husband made another speech in which he told Meghan "I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

So, it's clear that Harry and Meghan had the perfect day, and when it comes to the wedding dress, if Meghan was happy, that's all that matters. Haters gonna hate. All we know is that she looked like a true queen yesterday.
