It's awards season, and the nominations you've all been waiting for are finally in.
Russell Crowe may have once one an Acadamy Award for his stellar performances in Gladiator, but now the Hollywood icon finds himself in a rather unexpected position this year – he's among the nominees for the infamous Golden Raspberry Awards, AKA the Razzies.
These annual awards shine a spotlight on the worst films and performances of the past year, and Crowe is nominated for his role in the supernatural horror film The Pope’s Exorcist.
Released in April last year, The Pope’s Exorcist received mixed reviews, with Crowe portraying the pope's personal exorcist battling evil forces. In the Worst Actor category, Crowe is up against Hollywood action heroes Vin Diesel and Jason Statham. Also in the running is Chris Evans, nominated for his performance in the straight-to-streaming romance Ghosted. (I've literally never heard of it.)
Ana De Armas also "earned" a Worst Actress nomination for her role in Ghosted. She joins the ranks of Megan Fox, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lopez, and Dame Helen Mirren in the category.
One movie that hasn't come out unscathed is Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey - which sees the beloved characters of the Hundred Acre Wood transformed into blood-thirsty killers.
While many celebrities nominated for Razzies tend to just ignore the awards, some have actually embraced the dubious honor. Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock, for instance, have both attended the Razzies ceremony in person to collect their Worst Actress awards in the past.
In the current year's Razzies, Expend4bles, the fourth installment in the action franchise, leads the nominations with seven nods. The categories and nominees include:

The Razzies have been a tradition for 44 years. And although they've always been seen as a bit of harmless fun, they have faced criticism in recent times. Last year, the award organizers issued an apology after nominating 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong for Worst Actress. They subsequently withdrew her nomination and pledged to exclude performers under the age of 18 from future nominations.
The Razzies ceremony for this year is scheduled to take place on March 9, just a day before the Academy Awards.
