Queen Camilla has made her first public comments regarding her daughter-in-law Princess Catherine's cancer battle.

Last week, the Princess of Wales shared a video message to the Kensington Palace social media channels revealing that she is currently undergoing "preventative chemotherapy" after being diagnosed with cancer. Watch the full video below:

Princess Catherine revealed that the diagnosis came after she underwent major abdominal surgery back in January.

In the emotional message, the 42-year-old Princess expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the public and revealed that she has taken the time to reassure her three children that she will overcome this battle.

Although Princess Catherine understandably didn't reveal too many details about her cancer battle, she did state: "Tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment."

Now, in her first public comments on the matter, Queen Camilla has addressed the Princess of Wales' cancer diagnosis, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support, adding that her daughter-in-law is "thrilled by all the kind wishes and support".

As reported by the Mirror, during her visit to Shrewsbury today (March 27), the 76-year-old monarch encountered two young girls who had crafted posters for Princess Catherine.

When asked if she would deliver the gifts to the Princess, Queen Camilla promised the girls that she would, adding: "I know that Catherine is thrilled by all the kind wishes and support."

Of course, Princess Catherine's diagnosis also comes as King Charles III is receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

Per The Independent, Queen Camilla is currently the most senior member of the Royal Family fulfilling engagements, as she supposed her husband in his stead.

Queen Camilla has carried out over a dozen royal duties since the King's diagnosis, including hosting Ukraine’s first lady and leading the royal family at a memorial service for King Constantine of Greece at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

We wish both Princess Catherine and King Charles III the very best with their respective health journeys.
