The Simpsons have been notorious for "predicting" things that actually happen in real life and the viral Willy Wonka attraction in Scotland has been the latest on the list.

Well, that's allegedly what some people found when they booked a fun day out to a Willy Wonka-themed attraction recently.

The attraction in Glasgow has been the talk of the town after videos of the event went viral online.

Titled 'Willy's Chocolate Experience' by House of Illuminati, the event was supposed to be a child-friendly, fun day out, but turned out to be pretty disappointing for those who attended before it was abruptly canceled.

Speaking to Sky News, those who attended the immersive experience for $44 a head recalled their experience, with many having to console their crying children.

After posting a video of a demon-looking creature playing an "evil chocolate-maker that lived in the walls of the factory", Maryanne McCormack said that her child was left hiding away.

"Some of the other kids were upset," she added. "It was just very odd because I couldn't figure out the relevance."

Jack Proctor, another attendee, described the props stating that the chocolate river was just a "strip of brown carpet" and described one of the stations as an "Oompa Loompa m*th lab."

"Our kids, like every kid in the place, were terrified of [the demon]," he said. "It was supposedly an evil chocolate-maker that lived in the walls of the factory. Out of context it was weird, but nothing in there made sense, so it fit in well."

Proctor also went on to recall that a random person, who was not Willy Wonka, invited them in but quickly after, they realized just how underwhelming the experience was.

"We were directed through a partitioned walkway with some randomly placed oversized props, a demonic character whose sole purpose was to terrify the children, and a m*th lab-like candy station that had test tubes with some sweets in them," he told the outlet. "Two Oompa Loompas were handing out candy from these tubes. Each kid got a jellybean and a half-cup of Morrison's [grocery store in the UK] Limeade.

He continued: "We passed through the partitioned area in about three minutes to discover that we had experienced the entirety of Willy's Chocolate Experience. The remainder of the venue was just tables for sitting at and a small unmanned bouncy castle in the corner."

The disappointed father and his children were then forced to leave "15 minutes after entering as security was starting to turn people away saying the event was canceled."

As the news continues to do the rounds, many have pointed out that the iconic cartoon, The Simpsons, actually may have predicted something like this years ago.

Taking to Instagram, a meme account compared shots taken from the cartoon to photos from the Willy Wonka experience and the resemblance is uncanny.

Have a look at the post below:

From the table of lemonades to a morose Oompa Loompa, and even the approximate admission fee, the show did appear to get a fair few things spot on.

One thing's for sure, we're going to be keeping a close eye on The Simpsons from now on, just in case...
