Popular Swedish cider company Kopparberg has taken a step away from its usual offerings to give us something new this summer: strawberry and lime pink gin.

Now, in case you're unfamiliar with the brand, it's one of the most popular fruity ciders on the market, and in the UK, it's ranked the second most popular alcoholic beverage among women - and holds a fairly respectable 12th place among men - something which could have influenced this new creation.

The new beverage combines the taste of London-dry style gin and the strawberry and lime flavor that's made Kopparberg famous the world over.

And while it's currently not on the market, it won't be long until we can taste it as it will be available from the 6th of May onwards at 700 Greene King pubs in the UK, the Sun reports.

Fret not if you're not a pub-goer either as the gin will also be available in Asda and Morrisons from May 22, priced at £22 ($29) a 70cl bottle.

Needless to say, Kopparberg's gin has a much higher alcohol content than its 4% ABV ciders and contains an ABV of 37.5%.

Rob Salvesen, Kopparberg's head of marketing, said: "We are extremely excited to be bringing our new Premium Gin to the UK.

"Kopparberg is famous for flavor and we've worked hard to create a pink gin in the iconic Kopparberg flavor of strawberry and lime, that we know the nation loves.

"We look forward to seeing pink gin fans across the country spend many sunsets making memories with friends this summer with a glass of Kopparberg Premium Gin."
