Have you ever noticed that people on the internet have a habit of running their mouths off before they know what they're talking about?

Just kidding - of course you have! The World Wide Web, while a great thing, has a habit of turning people into complete douchebags - and perhaps no one is targetted by these douchebags with such a fury as famous people.

Being a celeb herself, Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, unfortunately, knows all about this. The 27-year-old is regularly attacked by trolls online who berate her for her weight, and it will come as little surprise that she has had it up to here with them.

This was made clear recently when the actress clapped back at people who body-shamed her on social media. After receiving numerous comments about how skinny she had gotten in her DMs, Sarah took to Instagram Story to set all of her haters straight.

In a video, she told anyone who was concerned to direct any questions, comments or concerns towards her boyfriend, former Bachelorette star Well Adams, saying: "I’ve been reading some of your DMs and so many of you are like, ‘Girl, you fine but like, eat some bread!’ So I would like to put in a request for anyone who is concerned about my bread consumption to send to Wells Adams, because he is the sole person who knows about how much bread I consume on a daily basis. Thanks! Love you, mean it, k bye."

Shortly after, Sarah's boyfriend joined her in shutting down any "bread concerns" in an Instagram Story selfie video of his own, telling his followers: "Just saw Sarah's story. Apparently, there are concerns about how much bread she eats. I can vouch for her that she truly is — she's not a carnivore, she's a carbivore."

Unfortunately, it's not the first time Sarah - who plays Hayley on the Emmy Award-winning mockumentary family sitcom - has had to address body-shamers out there. Back in May, the actress took to Twitter to deny rumours that she was battling anorexia, as many people were claiming.

“I’d like to address something that has not only been brought up on Twitter but has been heavily discussed by all of you in my Instagram comments,” she wrote in a note that she attached to a series of tweets. “That something is my weight. I normally don’t comment on things like this because it draws attention to those trying to spread negativity but I’m here to explain a few things and spread love. Here goes…I haven’t had the greatest year. Maybe one day I’ll talk about it but for now, I’d like my privacy. I will say this year has brought a lot of changes and with that, physical changes.”

She went on to confess that she had been struggling with health concerns and had been ordered to bed rest for the past few months, which led to her losing muscle mass. "My circumstances have put me in a place where I'm not in control of what my body looks like...My self confidence is not rendered from your comments. Because I will always be too fat. I will always be too skinny," she wrote.

The Modern Family actress suffered from kidney dysplasia in the past and underwent a kidney transplant from her father in 2012. However, it is unclear whether her recent illness is related to this.

We hope you're feeling better, Sarah! Ignore the haters, you're doing great!
