An estimated two billion people watched the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this weekend, making it the fourth-most-viewed royal wedding in history (or, depending on how you look at it, the most popular spin-off episode of Suits).

Of the near countless fans who enjoyed the celebrations, however, some had a more personal connection to the couple than others. Take Gigi Perreau, for instance, who showed up amongst a crowd of an estimated 100,000 in order to show her support for her former drama student on her wedding day.

The 77-year-old actress and former teacher was a mentor to Markle while she was at school, but hadn't seen the Suits star in years. Nevertheless, she'd been invited to Windsor for the celebrations in order to act as a guest contributor for ITV network's coverage of the wedding.

While waiting for the carriage carrying the newlyweds to pass along The Long Walk (a 2.6 mile pathway that runs all the way through the park to Windsor Castle), Perrau was asked, "Do you think she'll recognize you?"

Just a moment later, the new Duchess of Sussex answered that question when she caught her old drama teacher's eye, and could be heard saying "Oh my God!" as she did so.

Alex Beresford, a TV personality and weatherperson, managed to capture the moment in this heartwarming clip:

As you can see in the footage, Perrau is thrilled to have been recognized by her former pupil - and everyone around her appears to share her sentiment.

The royal wedding certainly was a memorable day for many people - but something tells us that Perrau will cherish her experience more than most.
