In many people's eyes, Chrissy Teigen can do no wrong. I mean, honestly, what's not to like? She's intelligent, funny, beautiful and, along with her husband John Legend, she's responsible for spawning some of the cutest little human beings I have ever had the good fortune to see.

Nonetheless, you can't please everyone, and the model rubbed up quite a few people the wrong way when she shared a photo of herself with Shania Twain to social media yesterday.

Posting on Instagram, the mother-of-two uploaded an image of the pair of them beaming at the camera on the set of Lip Sync Battle, the show that she co-hosts with LL Cool J on Paramount Network. She captioned the photo: "Presenting the legend, @shaniatwain!! Watch @derekhough vs @nicolescherzinger for our @shaniatwain tribute tonight at 10:30/9:30c!! #LipSyncBattle".

You may well be confused. Aside from the blatant plug (that we can all surely forgive), there seems pretty much nothing at all to be vexed at, right? However, everyone knows the people on the internet can find a problem with anything you give them. As soon as the picture was posted people on Instagram began kicking off. The main problem? Chrissy was associating with a "Trump supporter".

The outrage refers back to the April interview in which Shania revealed that, if she was an Ameican citizen, she would have voted for Trump. "I would have voted for [Trump] because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest," she told British newspaper The Guardian. "Do you want straight or polite? Not that you shouldn’t be able to have both. If I were voting, I just don’t want bullshit. I would have voted for a feeling that it was transparent. And politics has a reputation of not being that, right?"

After receiving backlash for her comments, the Man! I Feel Like a Woman! songstress apologised for her "awkward" remark, stating: "I am passionately against discrimination of any kind and hope it’s clear from the choices I have made, and the people I stand with, that I do not hold any common moral beliefs with the current president."

However, even after her apology, many people still remain angry at Shania. Namely Chrissy Teigen's Instagram followers, who berated her for posting a picture with the singer. "Sorry, Chrissy. That don't impress me much," wrote one user, while another expressed outrage putting "Don't need to elevate Trump supporters in a time like this."

"Was this before or after @shaniatrain said she would have voted for Trump," asked someone else, while one simply stated "#nope I'm not here to revive a Trump supporter's career."

So far, there has been no comment from Chrissy on the drama, but we wouldn't be surprised if she defended her decision in typically witty fashion soon. Speaking of Trump, have you seen the incredibly generous birthday present the model and her husband got him? It sure was the perfect gift.
