Donald Trump's ongoing rivalry with Jimmy Kimmel isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

Although the 56-year-old didn't have the smoothest of evenings hosting the 96th annual Academy Awards -- with jokes like the ones about Robert Downey Jr. falling flat -- one moment that did receive praise was when Kimmel responded to criticism from former POTUS Donald Trump.

Toward the end of the evening, Kimmel took to the stage at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater to reveal that one certain viewer had shared some scathing words about his presenting skills on Truth Social.

Check out the moment below:

And rather than shy away from Trump's comments, Kimmel instead decided to read out the 77-year-old's post in-full to the global audience. Trump's full post can be read below:

"Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC 'talent,' George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous. Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years - Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

After reading Trump's post in full, Kimmel then asked the room: "See if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social."

And, after thanking the former president for watching the show, Kimmel quipped: "Isn’t it past your jail time?" - a shot at the former president's recent legal troubles.

Although many viewers praised Kimmel for his response, it looks like Donald Trump did not see the funny side, and he once again took aim at the Late Night host during a conversation with Fox News host Howard Kurtz on Sunday.

Despite being called out on the Oscars stage, Trump still saw the moment as a victory.

"[Kimmel] probably, stupidly, you know, he had to, he had to act in a short period of time, like minutes, right? He had minutes because he’s on air, he sees this thing and he wants to go out there and he wants to, I guess, confront me and so and he ends up reading my [Truth Social post]," Trump said.

"I said, ‘This guy’s even dumber than I thought.’ The thing went viral, it’s been all over the world now, and all he had to do is keep his mouth shut."

In a later interview with Variety, Oscars show producer Molly McNearney ― who just so happened to also be Kimmel’s wife ― revealed that she had attempted to stop her husband from reading Trump's post out to the world.

Saying that her "instincts are usually right," McNearney admitted that she "was totally off on that" when she saw the praise Kimmel received for addressing the former POTUS.
