There's something missing from the Trump family Christmas photo

Donald Trump just can't catch a break. During a speech, he awkwardly drank water with two hands, and got roasted on Twitter. On National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, he tweeted a message of support, but got FDR's quote wrong. Then Melania tweeted a message and got the date wrong, by a month. And remember Melania's creepy Christmas decorations? It looked like an icy gothic nightmare. Or, as one Twitter user wrote, "honestly in awe of the scope and intensity of melania's cries for help."

But you know what? The President's not supposed to catch a break. Getting criticized for everything you do is part of the job. It happens to everyone. And considering how President Trump pushes such an unpopular agenda, and viciously attacks so many people on Twitter and in speeches at his rallies, most of the criticism is completely warranted.

However, there's one aspect of the presidency you'd think would be totally free from controversy: the First Family's Christmas Photo. First Lady Melania shared their official photo on Twitter, and everyone noticed that something seemed to be missing. Can you guess what it is?

At first glance, it seems like a great Christmas photo. President Trump's looking dapper in a tuxedo, and Melania is rocking an elegant black evening gown. They're flanked by giant patriotic flags, and pretty snow-kissed Christmas trees. What could be missing? Oh, yeah, that's right - it's the family. How do you forget the "family" from the "family photo"? Come on! You had one job!

Specifically, people were wondering why 11-year-old Barron Trump wasn't there.

In the past, Barron's been missing from other political events, like the wreath-laying ceremony in January and the inaugural concert at Lincoln Memorial. But his exclusion from the family Christmas photo is a bit odd. One Twitter user wondered if perhaps they forgot Barron, and he was in a Home Alone-type situation.

Trump's older children were not included in the photo either, which makes sense, since they're all grown up, with their own families. However, one Twitter user decided to use his Photoshop skills to create a full family photo - using cartoon characters (and a Barbie doll) to represent each Trump's personality.

Another user pointed out the comedic framing, in which Donald and Melania look so small. In the past, a journalist criticized Trump for having small hands, and he got extremely upset. Clearly the guy who stamps his name on everything has a fragile ego. I mean, he even implied he had a penis in a Republican debate, saying there was "no problem" with the size of his hands "or anything else." Did he know he looked small in this photo?

Another user cracked a joke about Trump's insistence about saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays."

But perhaps the best response came from a Twitter user who reminded us of the Obama family's lovely photo in 2016.

It's okay, though, President Trump. You have three more years to get it right! Well, unless you get impeached for obstruction of justice and colluding with Russia to steal the presidential election. You have one more year to get it right! Maybe. Happy holidays!
