Benjamin Franklin said there are only two things certain in life: death and taxes. Well, I'd like to add a third one: white women calling the cops on black people for no good reason. At least, that's what it seems like this year. 'BBQ Betty' called the cops on a black family having a barbecue at the lake. 'Permit Patty' called the police on an eight-year-old black girl selling water bottles on the sidewalk. 'Pool Patrol Paula' assaulted a black teenager at a community pool. And 'Cornerstore Caroline' falsely accused a black 9-year-old boy of sexual assault. (His backpack brushed up against her as she walked by, and she thought he grabbed her butt.)

Well, now there are enough angry white ladies to start a basketball team. In Ponte Vedra, Florida, a field marshal called the police on a black father at his kid's soccer game. He was cheering for his son, and she thought he was yelling at the referee. When he tried to explain he was speaking to his child, she refused to let it go, and called the cops because she didn't feel safe. A witness named Ginger Williams recorded the incident and posted images on Facebook. Since the field marshal approached the father in a golf cart, she nicknamed her 'Golfcart Gail.'

"A parent at my son’s soccer game had the police called on him for cheering for his son during the game. This man was simply trying to watch his son's soccer game and cheer for him from the sides. He yelled “The ref is right!” when he saw his kid out there getting frustrated after a call. This woman, lets call her Golfcart Gail, decided to spring into action and rapidly approach this parent and remind him that harassment would not be tolerated.

"He informed her that he was only speaking to his son. For whatever reason, Golfcart Gail just would not let this go. She continued to harass and beleaguer this parent. The gentleman offered to leave in order to avoid a situation. As he began to pack up his things Golfcart Gail informed him that she was calling the police because she no longer felt safe with his threatening behavior. "

"This man was peacefully leaving his own son’s soccer game to avoid exactly this situation... Shame on you Golfcart Gail for what you did to this man and to the children who had to see this. Can you imagine how afraid his child must have been to see this happening?!"

William's post went viral, getting over 8,000 comments and 25,000 shares. Another witness, Maria Morales-Walther, recorded a video of the outburst, and stated that the father was not aggressive at any point. She also claimed she  overheard 'Golfcart Gail' tell authorities she "feared for herself and the children because she didn't know what he [the father] was capable of."

In the video, one of the deputies can be heard saying that the field marshal was within her right to call the police. While that may be true, considering the two witness accounts, her behavior seems pretty ridiculous. How about this for a New Year's resolution for 2019 - no more calling the police on black people for mundane activities?
