Woman shoots husband dead after discovering he had subscribed to an adult movie channel
A woman has shot her husband dead after discovering that he had added an adult movie channel to their television subscription, local news reports.
Prosecutors say that Patricia Ann Hill, 69, "flew into a rage" once she discovered that her husband, Frank, had re-added an adult movie channel to their television subscription. She had deleted it once before, courts heard, but after discovering the service once again, she shot the 65-year-old twice.
Frank Hill was found by police wounded inside a shed near the couple's home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The Pine Bluff Commercial says that Frank was then taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Patricia Hill's lawyer, Bill James, described the couple as "basically estranged" at the time of the incident, but also that Hill had a huge problem with her husband's pornography habit, saying it was a "personal affront to her and to her god".
"She told him over and over again to stop, and he said he would but went right back to doing it," explained James, and it appears that after a subscription to an adult movie channel reappeared on their television bill after Patricia had taken it off, the 69-year-old lost patience.
Allegedly, Hill went into the couple's shed, which her husband had repurposed into a 'man-cave', and knocked over a table that held his beer and cigarettes. While Frank was cleaning up the mess, deputy prosecutor Holden Raines said that Patricia Hill returned with a pistol to shoot her husband in the leg and then once more.
Hill then called for an ambulance.
James says that his client "lost her mind" at the time, and doctors are expected to testify on her mental state at the time. Until then, Patricia Hill is being held at the WC 'Dub' Brassell Adult Detention Center in Arkansas. Her trial is ongoing.
