Man calls firefighters after getting his penis stuck in weights at the gym
When I was young, I got stuck in a strange place. I was about four or five years old at the time, and was passing the time waiting for my family to leave the leisure centre we had just been swimming at. As I waited for my sister to dry her hair, I thought it would be entertaining to weave in and out of the railing at the top of the stairs. What I didn't know is that apparently these railings weren't all equally spaced apart.
I realised that I couldn't get through the last gap, and couldn't move back either. Eventually, the fire brigade had to be called to saw off one of the poles so I could get out. By that point I'd been there for a good while, and people still make fun of me for the incident today. But no matter how embarrassing that was for me at the time, it has nothing on what this man underwent last week.
A man in Germany got another body part stuck in an object, this time a piece of gym equipment. In a situation that must have made him reevaluate his life, he had to contact emergency services after his penis was stuck inside a dumbbell disc. Either this guy was trying out a dangerous new work-out I haven't heard about or something a lot more gross was happening that day.
In Worms, a city in Rhine-Palatinate, Germany, the fire department received a bizarre call on the morning of Friday September 15. He had initially been taken to hospital, but doctors were unable to free him from his self-made trap, German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur reported.
Feuerwehr Worms, the fire department in the area, were told that a man had a "very sensitive part of the body" trapped, and arrived to save the day. The man was sedated, and the firefighters spent a stunning three hours slicing up the 2.5kg weight plate, using angle grinders, saws, and hydraulic emergency devices. They took to Facebook to post a photo of the smashed weight and warned others not to imitate his actions:
"A message of a somewhat different kind was received on Friday morning, 15.09.2017, at the control centre"
"One person had a very sensitive part of the body trapped in the hole of a 2,5kg-dumbbell disk.
"With the help of a cutting grinder, a vibrating saw and a hydraulic rescue device, the dumbbell weight could be removed after three hours."
This post has now amassed nearly 6,000 shares, as well as over 35,000 comments from users. Clearly, people are intrigued about this issue, and cringing at the pain this guy must have felt. What was he thinking? And how embarrassed does he feel now? Unfortunately for us, we know the answer to both of these questions, which is likely making people across the world wish they didn't have such a strong imagination right now.
