A police chief says that he has photographic evidence that Elvis Presley is still alive, more than 40 years since the musician was supposed to have died.

Presley was just 42 years old when he was found dead on the toilet in his home in Memphis, back in August of 1977. But veteran police chief Monte Nicholson is just one of many people who believe that the singer - said to be the King of Rock and Roll - faked his death that day, and continues to live among us.

Nicholson was so sure of his convictions, he actually appeared in the 1990 documentary The Elvis Files to explain his ideas, alluding to a picture of Elvis that gives his theory a whole lot of weight. The now-retired police officer explained that he was approached by a man who gave Monte Nicholson a series of photos.

"One day, he showed up at work and had pictures of Elvis Presley getting in a helicopter which looked like a government helicopter. There were men surrounding Elvis also getting into the helicopter who looked like what we often see depicted as government agents, with the blazers and the wire in their ear and what not."

Nicholson continued to explain what the alleged photos showed;

"That pictured in itself was not particularly suspicious as it is common knowledge that Elvis himself was involved as an honorary police officer with many police agencies all over the country. The interesting thing, the curious thing about this pictured is that this individual claimed it was taken several hours after Elvis allegedly died."

On the back of this, The Mirror reports that Monte Nicholson tried to contact the man once more in order to see the photos again. The man in question denied the photos existed, before eventually relenting and asking for money to give Nicholson the photos.

But when Nicholson arranged to meet the man in person, the man directed him to an empty location, and was never to be seen again. Although he would never hear about the photos or from that man ever again, Monte Nicholson was inspired to write a book about his encounter.

The Presley Arrangement came out in 1987, and aims to prove that Presley is in fact alive, but similar to Bigfoot or Tupac Shakur, there is not definitive proof that Elvis Presley still walks among us, greatly missed as he is.
