Amazing pictures show worshippers gathering in Mecca for last Friday of Ramadan
For Muslims all around the world, visiting Mecca is a spiritual requirement. The haji, the holy pilgrimage, is one of the five pillars of Islam - the central tenets governing the laws of the religion. As a result, every year during the month of Ramadan, a huge influx of pilgrims travel to Mecca in western Saudi Arabia, gathering around the Kabbah to prostrate themselves before one of the holiest sites in the world.
