With lockdown rules still in effect, I'm sure many of us are treasuring the time we can spend out of the house during our daily dose of officially-sanctioned exercise. However, one dog from Austin, Texas, has become our collective spirit animal after playing dead to his owner in an effort to avoid going home.

Check out the dog's hilarious tactics in the video below:

The dog, named Blue, clearly isn't a fan of curfews and time constraints, as he has started to throw a toddler-like tantrum while on his walkies.

Owner Cady McNerney, 28, managed to capture many of the two-year-old pooch's protests on their recent walks.

In the video, Cady repeatedly attempts to enthusiastically urge Blue to stand up and walk home, often saying: "Come on, Blue! You can do it!"

But Blue clearly has other plans, opting instead to stop dead in his tracks and fall to the ground - totally ghosting his owner.

Marketing manager Cady says Blue has thrown "temper tantrums" since he was a puppy, but has noticed they have become more and more frequent since lockdown rules came into effect.

Blue - who was born blind - often attends doggy daycare, and therefore spends a lot of time around other pups. Perhaps this is why he plays dead so much? He just wants to meet up with some of his furry friends?

We feel you, Blue. We feel you. In fact, I'm sure I saw one of my neighbors doing the same thing earlier this week.
